You may well be at the point within the redundancy journey where you’re ready to move forward, but to do what?
We believe you broadly have three choices – get another job, start your own business, or retire.
However, If you want another job, do you want to do more of the same, or something new? If you’re going to start your own business, doing what? Build on your skills and experience? Develop a hobby into a business? If you choose to retire, can you afford to do that? And what will you do with your time??
Decisions, decisions! But how do you make those decisions?
As with each step along this redundancy journey, you can work on it alone, or you can get help.
Free resources
There are plenty of free resources to help you decide what job to get (see our Getting a Job page) but we don’t know of free services to help you decide which of these three paths to take. If you do, please let us know so we can share the information with others.
However, there are a number of career coaches who we know / like / trust who do charge for their services, and to whom we’d be happy to refer you, to help you make these potentially life changing decisions.
Most such people see themselves as part coach and part counsellor, helping you work out what it is you now want from life, how you define the word “success” and then starting you off on the practical journey towards achieving it.
Chargeable services
If you already know / like / trust a career coach with whom you can talk, then you should go that route.
If you don’t know / like / trust someone like that, don’t worry, we do!
If you contact us with an outline of your situation and your concerns we can put you in touch with someone who we know / like / trust so that they can contact you to see whether or not they think you need help, what help that might be, and what charges might be incurred.
All of our contacts are very careful to ensure that they do nothing billable until they have your explicit go-ahead to make that happen. If you contact someone you already know, make sure they’re playing by those rules too!
